Kimchi Fusion Cheeseburgers
Upgrade your burger game with a spicy, umami-packed twist. These juicy kimchi-infused patties are the ultimate weeknight comfort food.
Adding kimchi to a burger patty might seem bold, but it’s a total game-changer. That fermented, tangy spice cuts through the richness of the beef, creating a deep flavour profile that feels like a fusion restaurant creation made right in your own kitchen.
Because the kimchi does all the heavy lifting for flavour, you can keep your toppings simple and fresh. It’s my go-to for those evenings when I want something indulgent, fast, and entirely satisfying.
The Ingredients
- ✔500g quality ground beef
- ✔150g kimchi, finely chopped (plus 1 tbsp juice)
- ✔2 tsp gochujang paste (divided)
- ✔1 tbsp light soy sauce
- ✔4 brioche buns & 4 slices of Cheddar cheese
- ✔4 tbsp mayonnaise & 2 baby gem lettuces
- ✔Olive oil for frying
The Instructions
Sear & Melt: Get a pan very hot with a little oil. Smash the patties down firmly with a spatula. Fry for 2 minutes per side until you get a great crust. Pop a slice of cheese on each, then cover the pan for a moment to get that perfect melt.
